We, the Atchley Insurance crew, recently attended the 2011 Riverside Chamber of Commerce Mega Mixer. We set up our own booth and also made loads of great connections!
It's us at the Mega Mixer!
The Mega Mixer is a Trade Show with over 100 exhibitors, businesses, and guests. In my opinion, this is one of the MOST effective ways to promoting a business, service, or product—you are able to get face-to-face with possible customers. Also, it is the best way to put your business out on the market, get connected with other businesses, and see what they are doing as well.
As an exhibitor, there are many key factors to a booth that can make the biggest impact. Naturally, the product or service itself is the most important element, but how you showcase and promote plays a major role itself. For example, Casey’s Cupcakes, another fellow exhibitor at the Mixer, displayed their wonderful and tasty-looking cupcakes. This attracted many people. Having a wonderful and relevant booth set up is important.
If you’re product/service is something you cannot literally bring to your booth, little knick knacks and small giveaways with your company logo are a great idea. I have seen pens, key chains, flyers, buttons,—even lip balm—as a promotional give away for attendees to walk away with your business’ info.
Speaking of give away, at our booth, we wanted to give a little something extra and get the most out of our possible connections. We held a give away for a gift basket full of Starbucks goodies to those we exchanged business cards with. Congratulations to Debbie from Darby’s Artisan Confections!
